Burj Khalifa (Arabic: برج خليفة, “Khalifa Tower”) is an extremely tall skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates named after Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and it is the tallest building ever built in this world, at 828 metres (2,717 feet). Before the building opened, it was called Burj Dubai.

Burj Khalifa, means Khalifa Tower. Formerly known as Burj Dubai or Dubai Tower, which was changed to Burj Khalifa when the tower opened on January 4th 2010. Khalifa is derived from the name of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Maktoum, who is the president of United Arab Emirates, Burj Khalifa and other construction projects in Dubai were once on the verge of halting due to the attack of Financial Crisis, it was neighbor Adu Dhabi provided funds to Dubai in the hard time, this is the main reason for Dubai to rename the tower Burj Khalifa, additionally the word Khalifa has a important significance in Islam, it means Islamic world’s supreme leader.

Burj Khalifa is in the Downtown Dubai and the complex situated along the Sheikh Zayed Road, across from Al Wasl locality on the Northwest. The complex has Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, Dubai Mall, Burj Park Island, and The Address Downtown Dubai hotel at the center.

Situated 555 m above the sea level, At Top of the Burj Khalifa Sky Lounge is the highest observatory deck in the world and hence been open since the ides of October of 2014. Before this, the record was held by At Top of Burj Level 124 deck until Cloud Top 488 on the Canton Tower in China was opened in December 2011.
